A Broken Metabolism
- Poor lifestyle & nutrition choices lead to a broken metabolism. Fad diets, skipping meals, poor nutrition and no exercise all add up to a damaged metabolism. You can heal it by following this simple plan. It’s easy to do with a little planning, but it does take time to see the benefits. You don’t need to count calories, but be sensible about portion sizes. It’s the mix of protein, carbohydrate and fat that makes it work. The next section will tell you how to speed it up so you can lose weight now. But first, to heal your metabolism, there are only two rules…..
Rule Number 1 – NEVER SKIP ANOTHER MEAL.
(Did you know that Sumo wrestlers only eat one big meal per day? Yes, that’s how they get so fat!)
Rule Number 2 – Every meal or snack needs to contain realistic portions of lean protein, healthy fat, real carbohydrates and a non starchy vegetable.
What to Eat
Quality Protein:
- lean meats & chicken (avoid meats with nitrates, hormones, chemicals, preservatives)
- eggs
- lamb
- fish
- tofu, tempeh, miso
Healthy Fats: (Yes, FAT is very important to hormonal balance & a healthy metabolism. That’s why the low fat diets never worked.) Find additional information about healthy fats on my web site.
- flax oil
- flax seeds (freshly ground only)
- walnuts, almonds
- olive oil
- butter
- coconut oil
- fatty fish, such as salmon, sardines, mackerel, albacore tuna
Real Carbohydrates
- squash, potatoes, corn
- legumes, beans, lentils
- Sweet potatoes or yams
- Peas
- Any fruit
Non Starchy Vegetables
- Lettuce & other leafy greens
- Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower
These are just a few food ideas. I’m purposely focusing on the positive here…. what to eat… versus what NOT to eat.
